Fellow DHX Interactive Employees and I jokingly came up with the idea to shave our hair into mo/faux-hawks for the month of May in order to raise money for Hawks and birds in general. Following through on the joke, we decided to 'rock the hawks' for the entire month of May and accept donations.

Thus MayHawks was born!! All month (May 2013) we will be Hawking for a good cause, please support our weird experiment if you can.

We added a fancy little shirt section to the site!! Be sure to gear up with the MayHawks and support the cause!

Supporting is so much more fun when you get clothing, so click that nice shirt button in the top bar or just go here:

Thanks for the support!!

Hawk on!!!

About Bird Studies Canada

The original charity plan of “Hawks for Hawks” led us to search for a charity specifically helping Hawks, but finding something that specific seemed unlikely. Being the proud Canadians we are, we thought, why not extend our strange charitable exercise to all birds, because they could surely use our help! That is when we stumbled upon Bird Studies Canada and their mission, outlined below:

The mission of Bird Studies Canada is to advance the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of wild birds and their habitats, in Canada and elsewhere, through studies that engage the skills, enthusiasm, and support of its members, volunteers, and the interested public.

Bird Studies Canada is a not-for-profit organization built on the enthusiastic contributions of thousands of volunteer Citizen Scientists. Data from Bird Studies Canada’s volunteer surveys and targeted research projects are used to identify significant population changes and help direct conservation planning.”
